Beschreibung

This monograph by the artist collective U5 covers the first thirteen years of their artistic practice. The associative and simultaneous thinking in the creation process was central to this book. The texts of the artist and art critic Christian Egger, the art historian Nina Zschocke and the cultural scientist and curator Helene Romakin, who deal with the importance of collaborative practice and authorship, digitality and material aesthetics, form the art-theoretical framework for the collective work of U5. The enormous archive of images collected by U5 is a core element of this publication. The images appear in visual categories suggested by the authors to complement the texts. The artist pages were designed by U5 in response to the book production process and illustrate the deep immersion into their own archive.
